Should You Hire Friends As Wedding Entertainers?
Getting married and thinking about what kind of wedding band you’d like to have to help you celebrate your special day? Chances are that you know someone who sings or plays guitar – so should you ask them to come and perform on the big day itself?
We here at Tailored Entertainment would typically always advise you against doing this, especially if the pal in question isn’t a professional wedding singer or entertainer. They may buckle under the pressure at the last minute, for example, and then your wedding will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
What’s more, if your friend decides to bail out at the last minute (which can easily happen – just read this article in the Globe and Mail), your friendship with them could be affected forever and your wedding could be ruined. Finding good wedding entertainers can be hard enough without having to do a last-minute scramble to find someone to perform… you’ll either end up with someone sub-standard or having to pay through the nose to convince someone to come at the last minute.
Of course, having your friends involved during the day can be lovely so if you do know a musician or two, why not ask them to play at the ceremony rather than the reception itself. That way, the pressure is off for them and they can still enjoy your wedding without worrying about letting you down.
You can find a huge range of soloists, wedding bands and party bands on the Tailored Entertainment website, all ready to help you make your special day even more wonderful than ever.
