How To Choose Your First Dance Song
If you and your other half have agreed to have your Brighton wedding entertainers play something for your first dance as a married couple, it’s time to start thinking about what song you’d like to pick. But this could prove to be a lot harder than you might have thought, so have a quick read of this blog if you need a bit of help.
Think about the kind of couple that you are together and whether you want your first dance to be a serious affair, or something a bit more lighthearted. Working this out first will really help you make a decision about what track would be most appropriate.
If you’re a pair of jokers, something a bit cheeky could be the way forward (think Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong’s Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off and go from there), but if you’re more traditional as a couple, then Frank Sinatra’s Fly Me to the Moon might be a better choice.
Alternatively, if you consider yourselves to be a little bit out there, something completely off the wall could be a good idea. What about something entirely left field like The Bear Necessities… it’ll guarantee a smile on people’s faces and they won’t be able to wait to join you on the dancefloor!
If you’re not sure about the first dance idea at all, don’t worry – you’re not alone. And you don’t have to have one at all. If you want to just give a nod to the tradition, pick something easy to dance to like The Mamas and the Papas’ Dream a Little Dream of Me and get everyone else up dancing as quickly as possible.
