Welcome in the new year with our New Year’s Eve party ideas
Just the other day, we at Tailored Entertainment were discussing how often you hear one thing around the festive season. ‘Oh, I’m not that big a fan of New Years..’. It’s crazy how often people tell us this in the run up to Christmas when chatting about their seasonal plans.
But we can kind of understand why people might feel this way. First off, you’ve got the whole of December to navigate, with Christmas parties and shopping to do…then you’ve got Christmas itself with the wining and dining that naturally ensues. By the time you get to New Years, you can be forgiven for feeling a little bereft of ideas!
Well that’s where we come in. You see, we absolutely love new years. And with the little time we’ve got spare in between sending bands to christmas parties and corporate entertainment events across the country, we’ve put together a handful of helpful new years party ideas, perfect for setting off your new year with a bang…literally, in some cases!
We’ve even put together a little list of our favourite new years party bands for hire, with something to fit every occasion.
Five new years eve party ideas that’ll ring in the new year in style!
So here it is. Five awesome ways to make your new years even party completely unforgettable, from your friends at Tailored Entertainment. Lets do it!
Keep it at home!
Throwing a house party might not seem the most daring of locations for your new years bash, but there are plenty of advantages as well as ample opportunities for awesome new years party ideas. Having been through the logistical maze of Christmas, it can be much more straightforward to organise a party at home instead of casting around for expensive venue spaces at a popular time of year. What’s more, home and family is at the very heart of ringing in the new year with those you love – and what better place to do that than your own home?
If you want to spice things up a bit, maybe think about a cool new years eve party theme. For something a bit different, what about a Burns Night theme? Linking in nicely with the poet behind the verse in Auld Lang Syne, you can decorate the house in tartan and dance a kilt-clad ceilidh and sip on single malt till the early hours!
Non-Christmassy Food Options
After the rich indulgence of Christmas dinner, boxing day leftovers and five boxes of Quality Street through Christmas week, your guests will truly appreciate some lighter dining options at your new years party. Maybe think about a food theme totally removed from the trappings of your family’s traditional Christmas fare. Maybe you could try some of the incredible recipes for fresh salads and beautiful finger food in Persiana, Sabrina Ghayour’s smash-hit middle east recipe book. You could even get it on your Christmas list and try out some of the dishes on the 31st!
Black and Gold Themes
Finding a colour theme for your new years party can be a tough one. The Christmas decorations are still hanging, and it’s an easy leap to lump for a Christmas theme. However, we believe great new years party ideas deviate ever so slightly from the Christmas aesthetic. So how about a black and gold theme? It’s classy and timeless whilst still tying in nicely with that festive, wintery theme. Whats more, there’s plenty of black and gold decorative options to be found online and in stores this time of year. Razzle dazzle!
Champagne, anyone?
New years is, after all, one of the few regular occasions it’s acceptable to break out the good stuff – so why not make the most of it with an awesome new years themed Champagne bar?! There are lots of decorative kits to fir out your makeshift bubbly buffet…and even if your budget doesn’t quite stretch as far as the Veuve Clicquot, you can pick up some very reasonably priced and seriously delicious prosecco’s at most supermarkets this Christmas. Chin chin!
Fireworks, and lots of ‘em.
This is a big one for us. The only new years party idea on this list that is an absolute deal breaker. Fireworks. Seriously. Who doesn’t love fireworks? There’s no better way to ring in midnight of a new year than with an awesome firework display. Lots of supplier offer simple, relatively affordable new years fireworks packages that are sure to be a hit with your guests…just make sure the designated driver is the one lighting them at midnight!
So there you have it, five awesome new years party ideas that are sure to please every one of your guests. And what about a live band, I hear you cry? Well we’ve got some excellent live new years party bands that’ll prove a huge hit at your big night. Check them out!
