Five amazing Devon wedding venues for 2019
Devon! Easily one of the country’s most beautiful counties. Rolling hills, stunning sea views and some of the best weather in the UK adds up to make it one of the best places to get married in the UK.
But where to begin with your wedding venue search?! Well, we here at Tailored Entertainment thought we’d move away from furnishing you with wedding entertainment ideas and instead offer up some of our awesome acts' favourite unique Devon wedding venues to consider for 2019. We canvassed some of our most popular wedding bands in Devon to find five amazing wedding venues that are sure to absolutely wow you and your guests
Let’s get cracking, shall we?
Where else could we possibly start in a run down of our best Devon wedding venues? Ocean Kave was suggested by one of our biggest Devon wedding bands, Victoriana. Hewn into the very rock of the Devonshire coastline, this gorgeously romantic spot in the north of the county offers stunning sea views and the chance to repeat your vows amidst handpicked wildflowers and set to the echoing soundtrack of waves crashing against the rocks below. Who could ask for any better?
More and more zoos across the country have taken the opportunity to offer wedding packages, but Dartmoor Zoo has to be one of the best and most picturesque. Suggested by our very own Bootleg Boogie Band, this is a great choice for a truly unique wedding experience. Your guests can amble around amongst 33 acres of stunning woodlands and indulge in some unique photo opportunities whilst posing with some of Dartmoor Zoo’s exotic animals.
This venue is also the perfect spot for one of our increasingly popular roaming bands, like The Wanderland Band. They’ll move amongst your guests playing unplugged tunes directly to them. A great addition to this beautiful venue!
Regular readers of our blog will remember that we cited pub venues amongst our favourite Unique Wedding Trends for 2019 in a recent blog. Pub venues lend a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere to your big day, whilst still being set in a beautiful countryside location. The Cedars in Barnstaple is a perfect example of how this formula can be achieved. Formerly a country house, The Cedars offers a graciously secluded location for you and your guests to celebrate your wedding day.
Smeaton’s Tower is one of the most iconic buildings on the south west coastline, and now you can hold your wedding ceremony there! First lit in 1759, this imposing, candy-striped lighthouse has been the centre-point for community and culture on Plymouth Hoe for decades. Their Lantern Room ceremonies manage to tread the perfect balance between intimacy and theatricality, as your guests watch from the Hoe below. This is a truly spectacular wedding venue, and we thoroughly recommend you give it a look!
Kitley House Hotel in Yealmpton
Hotel weddings offer and understandable appeal to couples planning their wedding day. A wedding package provided by a hotel that is finely attuned to executing the perfect celebration takes a huge amount of the stress and strain away from the planning process. The problem often lies in the location itself. Many hotels are a little drab and uninspiring, or feel wearily similar to one another.
That’s where Kitley House comes into it’s own. This handsome country manor was built over 500 years ago, some time towards the end of the fifteenth century. That rich sense of history can be felt in every turn of every corridor. Dark oak staircases, gleaming suits of armour and stunning artwork are juxtaposed against a tastefully modern interior design, meaning Kitley House manages to feel light and open without losing any of it’s potent sense of historical heritage.
