Guest Blog! Celebrating Your Wedding at The Ravenswood
Happy September, folks!
As summer draws to a close and we start to look towards Autumn, we're finding ourselves no less busy here at Tailored Towers, with bands out supplying awesome wedding entertainment to happy couples across the country.
For this week's blog, we wanted to introduce you to one of our absolute favourite wedding venues in the country. We asked our friends at The Ravenswood to give us the run down on their beautiful venue, and a little information on what they can bring to your wedding day.
Without further ado, we'll pass you over to them!
BOOKING YOUR WEDDING AT THE RAVENSWOOD
The Ravenswood is a classically stunning 15th Century manor house set in 18 acres of grounds in the West Sussex country side, which boasts four lakes and an unlimited number of stunning photo opportunities!
Built in 1426 the house was then passed through many hands as a private home until it was finally licensed and opened up to the public in the 1968. During its time as a private home The Ravenswood housed the youngest daughter of Queen Victoria, Princess Beatrice, as well as Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands.
The beautiful house and its grounds are now a thriving wedding venue, fit to make you feel like royalty for the day! The outdoor ceremony space is the perfect setting for your ‘I do’s’ in the summer sunshine – your guests seated on the patio with views over the grounds, as they watch the two of you declare your love and commitment in front of the Little Castle. If however you’re looking for a cosy indoor affair, then the Old Baronial Hall is the ideal place for your ceremony to take place. With a wonderfully rustic feature fireplace and grand staircase that you could chose to use to make your entrance, this really is like something out of a fairy tale.
Your wedding breakfast would then take place in the Princess Beatrice Suite, paying homage to the royal former resident! This room, with its walls full of windows, offers the perfect space to sit back, relax and take in the whirlwind that is your wedding day, as your nearest and dearest tuck into a delicious meal prepared by our chef. Whether you’re opting for a spring wedding with a pastel pallet colour scheme, or a winter wedding with deep colours like burgundy, you can rest assured that your theme will look incredible. Then it’s time to let your hair down as the evening begins and you dance the night away!
When you venture outside for photographs make sure not to miss the boathouse, as well as the old ruins that can create a very atmospheric shot! The other key photo spots are the fun oversized chair and the bird cage in the garden. However, with 18 acres to explore you can also create your own unique photography.
Every single person in The Ravenswood’s team is dedicated to giving you a truly special day. From the moment you first walk through the doors for your initial wedding tour, the team will guide you all the way through and continue to deliver a wonderful service on the big day itself. You will find a very personal approach for your wedding, which can be very hard to come by!
But of course, the words of the couples who have celebrated their special day here will show you so much more - you can check out our reviews on our Facebook page, right here.
