The Roslin Beach Hotel, Southend
In this blog, we’ve often mentioned how easy it is to get beach wedding venues wrong. Well, The Roslin Beach Hotel in Southend is a perfect example of how to get a beach wedding exactly right. In fact, its possibly one of the best wedding venues in essex. There’s so much to love about this beautiful boutique hotel and its wedding packages that it’s difficult to know where to start. First off, the venue itself is exquisite. Each of its ceremony and reception rooms boast fine views across the Thames Estuary, making it a truly unique location to tie the knot. Capacity - Up To 80 Guests
Packages - The Ballroom Package is the grander of the two, with 50 guests during the day, moving up to 80 in the evening. The Bay Package is more intimate, with 25 day guests moving to 50 in the evening.
Prince’s Theatre, Clacton-on-Sea
At Prince’s Theatre in Clacton, you can step back in time into the throes of a roaring 1930’s music hall. This beautiful seaside theatre has been lovingly cared for over the years – setting it immediately apart form many of it’s contemporaries. It’s easily one of the best Essex wedding venues, the likes of which you’re not likely to find elsewhere in a hurry. Capacity - A whopping 300+ guests can be catered for in this venue, offering anything up to 820 for the evening reception! Not a spot for intimate weddings!
Packages - Full wedding day and standalone reception packages are available, should you wish to tie the knot elsewhere.
East Mersea Hall, Colchester
At East Mersea Hall, you essentially get two wedding locations for the price of one. First off you get a remarkable Elizabethan manor house dating back to the 15th century. The venue itself is surrounded by an old moat, that since its conception has flooded to form a pretty lake that now encircles the whole venue. Secondly, you’re – quite literally – a stones throw from the shoreline, meaning you can still enjoy all of the advantages a seaside wedding venue has to offer. What could be better than that? This must be one of the most unique wedding venues in Essex, if not the UK.

Capacity - Up to 250 day guests, pushing to 300 for the evening.
Packages - East Mersea Hall offers a whole host of great wedding packages that include use of the on-site church or civil services in it's woodland grounds. Packages are typically dependant on party size, from the pavilion package (150 cap) to the marquee package that can comfortably cater up to 300.
The Kingscliff, Holland-on-Sea
Plenty of Essex’s coastal wedding venues occupy huge, sprawling hotels that can end up feeling a little impersonal. The Kingscliff Hotel bucks that trend, offering something a little more on the intimate side. The jewel in the crown of this lovely little venue is surely its secret-garden-style ceremony space, boasting a beautiful pavilion that overlooks the sea. This space can also double as a great spot for your afternoon drinks reception. Win, Win!

Packages - The Kingscliff is a great spot for winter weddings, accompanied by the roar of the waves as they crash upon the rocks below the venue. They also specialise in civil ceremonies and multicultural weddings.

FESTIVAL FOLK
This festival style wedding band are one of the south coast’s most popular wedding bands, with bookings right across Essex and the south east. Their live show is perfect for a beachside wedding; it’s fun packed and perfect for getting all of your guests hitting the dancefloor!
